Webinar: ITIL (version 5) - What It Is and What it Means (2026-04-16)

ITIL (version 5) - What It Is and What it Means

The latest version of ITIL was launched on February 12th this year and has already been welcomed as a practical and accessible update that extends the work started in ITIL 4 . But exactly what is changing, and how will it impact organizations and professionals who have used previous versions? David Cannon will join us to talk about the changes and implications of ITIL (version 5), and to answer your questions.

David's presentation will cover:

What has changed, and why?

How does it impact our current certifications (whether in ITIL v3 or 4)?

How does it impact the way organizations will use ITIL now and in future?

Where can I learn more?

David is a service management practitioner, consultant, and leader. Over the last three decades he has seen the industry go through at least five technology-enabled shifts.

David has helped organizations apply the core management disciplines required to navigate each shift. He co-authored the ITIL publications Service Operation, (2007) Service Strategy (2011), Digital and IT Strategy (2020) and Acquiring and Managing Cloud Services (2021), and Strategy (2026). He has led consulting practices at Hewlett-Packard, BMC Software, and Forrester Research. David is a co-founder of itSMF International and recipient of the itSMF Lifetime Achievement award. Today he is Senior Director of ITIL at PeopleCert.
